A great push-up bra gives us glorious, lifted cleavage!

Then why is it so hard to find a comfortable bra that achieves that? The answer is this: the lift created by your push-up bras takes a toll on your back and shoulders.

This is why it’s crucial to find a push-up bra that fits you properly. The band should be snug, and all of the support should come from the band. Not the straps!

Consider Your Breast Shape

If you have shallow breasts and push-up bras often give you a quadriboob (or you don’t always fill the bottom of your cups), go for the lovely Freya Deco below (click to jump).

If your breasts are full on bottom, go for a bra that pushes them inwards as well as up, and look for a gradual padding. The OnGossamer Superboost mentioned below would ideal for you!

For those with breasts that are far apart, skip the plunge styles and go for something with a higher gore, such as Le Mystere Safari.

Push-Ups and Large Breasts

Lastly, don’t think that you shouldn’t wear a push-up bra if you have large breasts! You might enjoy the lift and rounded shape a push-up bra gives you.

While most of the push-up bras mentioned below come in smaller or standard sizes, check out the Freya Deco, Le Mystere Safari, and OnGossard Superboost for bigger sizes.

A high-quality push-up by Le Mystere, available in a wide size range. Gotta love the added cup size it gives as well as the support! I love that it comes in nude and black, but also coral! The band is decorated with a jacquard pattern, making it look overall luxurious while being wearable. The cups are seamless and look great under a tight shirt.

5. Gossard Superboost

30 to 44 (A to G).

I included this bra for several reasons. First, it provides phenomenal lift and va-va-voom. Second, it’s absolutely stunning! And third, it’s very high quality in terms of construction. It also has removable padding, and the padding does make you appear one cup larger. A great bra at a great price!

It’s also available in a HUGE range of sizes, up to 44 bands and G cups. Note however that the band sizes 40 and up do not have padding. Same for cups DD and up.

6. Jezebel Amanda

32 to 36 (A to D).

If you fall in the “standard” sizes of 32 to 36 A to D, this is a nice little push-up bra to give you some drama. This is also a good bra to wear a Deep V-neck! Cute double-straps and butterfly-like lace in the front.

7. Dita Von Teese

32 to 36 (A to D).

Journelle.com ($65) Free Shipping + Free Returns

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! This is the fancy, luxe version of the bra above! The perfect balance of feminine and sexy. It will absolutely boost you by a full cup, and the plunge neckline makes it perfect for low-cut dresses and tops. This high-quality silk push-up looks stunning. 8. Felina Add-A-Cup

32 to 36 (A to D).

The coolest part about this bra (apart from the low price) is that it’s convertible. You can criss-cross the straps to form a racerback, or leave a bare back if your dress has a “hole” in the back. Practical, economical, and it truly does add a cup size!

  • Oh I’m feeling so down about bras!!! I’ve been measured left right and centre. I ranged from a 34 dd, 36e, 38c 40b! I’ve tried plunge bras, but they rub the side of my arms, or the straps are too thin, or too wide apart.
I’ve just used your measuring method, which I think says I’m a 36E. ( 36in under. And 42in around nipple area)
I’m wearing a balconette bra at the moment, but my back fat and side fat is spilling out. I think I’ll just have to go bra less and just let them sag to my knees!!!

    1. Carrie, don’t lose hope!! Finding the right bra requires a lot of trial and error, especially when you’re an unconventional size. Have you tried several brands AND models in a 36E?

  • I have bought and loved mAiden forms and vassertti bras they are padded and will give me books I’m a big not fat woman with less than an A bust size it’s horrible no joke. My mom and sisters have boons I do not. Vassertti has stopped selling the style I like which made me look like I have something especially or my size. Please help me find something comparablelse.
